Remember the days when Mr. Huddleston would play his Gregorian chants, just daring you to fall asleep in his class?

Vrablic was expounding on some theorem in calculus class? Mrs. Overstreet was excited because the cat someone dissected had kittens? Guiley with his golf club hanging in the air, losing his place in the middle of a sentence? Madame Pearce speaking French to you in the hallway, and you have no clue what she has said?

Those were the days of long school hours, when all you wanted was a summer free of books and teachers. When our favorite song was "Strawberry Wine" and we all loved the movie "Scream".

Who could forget the Thursday discussions of 90210 with Fritz? The hilarious fashion show rave? How everyone came to the football games to see the band perform at halftime?

Remember the talent show and The Watts?

Ours was a class of over-achievers, a class of students far different from the one that came before us and the one that so quickly followed us. We took the Spirit Trophy four years running, a legend in Manteo High School history. We led the marching band to more first place trophies than Manteo High School had ever seen. We had athletes who were also our top students. We had it all.

So, where are we now?

This is only one of the questions haunting our minds as we celebrate our 10 years of freedom. Freedom from the rigors of school life, freedom from the cafeteria food we all loved to hate, freedom from the cliques that defined us in high school. Freedom.

Don't you wonder where we are now?
